Our company is looking for guidance on a stock option plan - specifically:
1) What are typical "ranges" (number or % options) for directors and "classes" of employees?
2) Our tax advisor has suggested we grant restricted stock in lieu of options to some of the officers due to the fact that the exercise of options down the road causes a large book expense to the company. Is this a valid concern? What are the benefits/pitfalls of this approach?
